A hand-hammered container historically used to carry your soaps and sponges to the hammam, with holes at the bottom that allow items to air-dry.
Especially popular during the Ottoman Empire, you can see antique versions in museums all across the globe. Today, less than a handful of masters still make these in Turkey, keeping the history alive.
We had the honour of meet one of these masters during our visit to Mardin in 2021, from whom we bought this one of a kind container with eye detail.
